Deion Sanders, the new head football coach for the University of Colorado, will be the special guest speaker at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana's Great Futures Sneaker Ball in March.
The fundraising event is hosted by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana to help support the two clubs. Sanders, an alumnus of the Boys and Girls Clubs national program, is set to speak and sign sports memorabilia items for auction during the event.
Sanders, a legendary former National Football League and Major League Baseball player who is the only professional athlete to ever compete in the Super Bowl and the World Series, recently left Jackson State to take the top coaching spot in Boulder, Colorado. He led Jackson State, a historically Black university in Mississippi, to a 27-5 record during his three seasons in Mississippi.
The fundraising gala will include a dinner, auctions and "mission moments," according to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana, to help raise funds for the four programs represented.
Individual tickets and tables for the March 25, 2023, program and dinner at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Complex are available for purchase, with a limited number of tickets for a VIP reception and photos with "Coach Prime."
